About Lynn

I am the Provost/Dean » of Denver Seminary in Littleton, Colorado.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Messiah College in Grantham, PA », and my Ph.D. in New Testament and Christian Origins from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Before taking my post as professor at Wheaton College in 2000, I taught at Messiah College (Grantham, PA), and the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (Nairobi, Kenya).

Most days are spent teaching students and researching projects. Here is some advice for students » from Paul’s letter to the Philippians.

I have taught and given lectures around the world. Perhaps the most exciting venue was the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia. I presented the keynote lecture at Speech Night for the Presbyterian Ladies College, Sydney.

I enjoy preaching from the Bible, teaching on matters pertaining to women’s ministry, and exploring issues pertaining to the historical relationship between Jews and Christians.

My preaching venues have been as diverse as traditional church settings in Sydney, Australia;
Dallas, TX; and a Masai mud hut on the Rift Valley near Mai Mahu (Kenya).

I have taught courses at international venues including:

  • Brisbane School of Theology (formerly Crossway Bible College)
    Brisbane, Queensland
  • Regent College
    Vancouver, British Columbia
    Canada; and
  • Ridley College
    Melbourne, Victoria

I have also taught intensive courses or given invited lectures at:

  • Campbellsville University
    Campbellsville, KY
  • Palm Beach Atlantic University
    West Palm Beach, FL
  • Eastern University
    St. Davids, PA.

I have traveled to Israel, Greece, Turkey, and Italy on study tours, including leading students on the “Wheaton in the Holy Lands” (Wheaton College; 2007, 2014) program and as part of the Christian Leadership Initiative (2012, 2013), sponsored by the American Jewish Committee and the Shalom Hartman Institute, Jerusalem.
